BRITISH ENDURANCE DEVELOPMENT SQUAD 2010

The British Endurance Development Squad management welcome contact from interested advanced level riders who are thinking of progressing to International ride level.

2 x ER’s are the minimum requirement for qualification to full squad status, however those aiming to qualify will be invited to attend Squad training and will be given help and advice as required.

Once you have fulfilled the criteria – you will become a full British Endurance Development Squad member and be in considered for the next International team trip.

This Squad should be the normal port of entry to International competition for new Adult Riders.

A very successful weekend in Mont le Soie saw all 6 riders finish the 120km CEI 2* ride in Belgium.  Unfortunately Larissa’s horse Ben Shah was vetted out at the final vetting.  Final positions were as follows:

Louise Rich & Oakleaze Cziko – 6th

Heather Whitely & Shahfabah –14th

Sue Rich & Oakleaze Czako – 15th

Charlotte Hirst & WFA Leena – 16th

Claire Bruce & Ah Diba – 17th

Riders who compete in International Teams as Young Riders can automatically apply to the Senior Squad but are welcome to join the SDS for support with new horses if they wish. The same applies to Adult Riders who have previously competed successfully for International Teams.

New Appointment to the International Selection Panel

The International Committee have appointed Mrs G Payton onto the Selection Panel. Gilly is a well known Endurance GB member who has many years of experience of riding, crewing, organising and spectating - both at home and internationally.

She will have special responsibility for the Young Rider Squad and the British Endurance Development Squad.
