Horses
in their first season may complete their novice and open
qualifications but may not upgrade or compete at advanced level until
the next season (providing they satisfy the age restrictions).
However 6yo advanced level horses can enter a CEI* and a CEI2* FEI
ride if ridden by an FEI 3* qualified rider.(see FEI pages for more
information)
Advanced
level riders and horses may compete in all EGB classes i.e. Non
Competitive Rides which are also known as Pleasure/Training/Social
Rides (NCRs), Competitive Rides (CRs) and Endurance Rides (ERs).
CRs will be 30km and above, they should be ridden at between
10-18kph, whilst ERs may be 80-160+km with a minimum speed of
10kph. However, competitors may choose to compete at or
below the qualification level of the horse and rider combination.
For example, an Advanced Level rider with an Advanced Level horse may
compete at Novice, Open or Advanced. However if an advanced level
horse completes a novice class only distance completion points will
be awarded.
Grading
